FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: Fire Chief Robert Fite Phone: (512) 930-3473 June 29,2010 No Fireworks in City Limits or 5,000 Feet Beyond By City of Georgetown ordinance, fireworks of any kind are not allowed in the City Limits of Georgetown or within 5,000 feet of the City Limits, unless they are used in a permitted display authorized by the Georgetown Fire Department. The relevant ordinance revision for this rule was enacted in 2006. Neither the possession nor the discharge of fireworks is legal in the City Limits or within the 5,000-foot buffer beyond City Limits. Violations can lead to fines of up to $500. Notice of Meeting of the Fire Commissioners of Williamson County Emergency Services District #8 Thursday, September 23, 2010 Special Call Meeting The Board of Fire Commissioners of Williamson County Emergency Services District #8 will meet on Thursday, September 23, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. at 816 South Main Street, Georgetown, Texas. A. Consideration and possible action related to approval of a service contract with the City of Georgetown for a twelve month period beginning October 1, 2010. B. Consideration and possible action to approve the budget for ESD#8 for the budget year 2010-11 beginning October 1, 2010. C. Consideration and possible action to authorize the payment to the City of Georgetown for mutual aid services within Williamson County and final contract payment for the contract year 2009-10. D. Consideration and possible action to expand the bookkeeping services provided from Grady Services to the ESD at the direction of the ESD #8 Treasurer, with specific authorization from the Board. E. Public Comment.
